Jesus laid out the Great Commission for us (Matthew 28:18-20), and said the Gospel would be proclaimed to the whole world and then the end would come (Matthew 24:14). Such an important mission must be covered in prayer for we can do nothing apart from Him (John 15:5).
Here are 4 ways you can pray for the finishing of the Great Commission.
- For Laborers
As ambassadors of reconciliation, we are the salt and light of the earth. But the world is big and its population always growing. Pray for more laborers to enter this field.
- For Receptive Hearts
When the word falls on good soil, it grows and bears fruit. It multiplies. Pray that God would prepare hearts ahead of time so that the Gospel will take root and bear fruit.
- For Open Doors
There are still many unreached people groups, closed countries, and hostile governments—all of which require a new inroad. Pray that God would open doors so that the Gospel may reach the unreached.
- For faithful leaders
Strong multiplication springs from faithful leaders teaching faithful leaders. We are to entrust the truth to the next generation. Pray for our leaders to be faithful teachers and ready learners.
